NOTE; Most ocean front homes in Mendocino County are built on the bluffs above the ocean, but it is extremely rare to find a vacation rental home on the beach. Not just a regular beach, but 10 miles of beach! Pelican House offers you just that, within 100 feet from the front door are the sand dunes and then nothing but ocean and beach as far as you can see.

Pelican House is a charming 2 bedroom 2.5 bath home, which also offers bunk beds and a futon in the game room, and sofa sleeper in the sitting room of the separate guest suite. It's cozy and warm with a gas fireplace upstairs; wood burning stove in the separate suite. Not to mention a panoramic view of the ocean from about every angle in the house. The large kitchen is open to a separate dining area with all-around windows allowing every dinner to be most memorable. Guests can sit on the back deck around the hot tub and enjoy an evening BBQ. The ocean, always beautiful and impressive can be spectacular during a storm. You have a front row seat in this home. Your days can be spent walking or riding a bike along the Haul Road which runs along headlands, beaches, tide pools and sand dunes to MacKerricher State Park, and beyond to the Pudding Creek Trestle, and the newly opened Coastal Trail with its interpretative signs, ending at the beach at Fort Bragg Landing. Horseback riding is only a mile away. House is located 3 miles north of Fort Bragg and 10 miles north of Mendocino.

This home is also equipped with a generator, which will provide power to the house during any electrical power outages. The only effect that you should experience is lack of hot water in the downstairs shower and no power to the hot tub. The generator is set for weekly maintenance midday on Tuesday, so for about 3 minutes you will hear a soft rumble from the unit, which is located under the rear deck.
